Leapfrog Cook & Play Potsy Review

Leapfrog Cook & Play Potsy Review

We looooooooooooooooooooove Potsy!!! This is such a great, fun toy by Leapfrog aimed at toddlers from 12-36 months. Essentially it is a talking pot, with two settings (learning mode for counting and colours and cooking mode where it 's all about the food). It comes with 5 different types of food (corn on the cob, cheese, peas, tomato and broccoli) and a spoon which can carry the pieces of food. Potsy sings and says really funny phrases and the unique feature about this toy is that it has a male voice! In the annoying scale as talking toys go it is definitely a zero and you 'll find yourself smiling to the cute phrases and songs. The foods make bubbling sounds when they go in the pot and there is also a song about stirring them. The whole concept is based on that of healthy eating. One other cool feature is that it also teaches opposites when taking the lid off and putting it back on again.

Potsy can also be connected to the Leapfrog Connect application to get an idea of your child's learning path while playing with the pot. It can also be customised with songs through the Leapfrog Connect application although I have never tried to do this.

Although this toy is aimed at toddlers both my sons have loved this at ages 8 months (mostly for the stirring and putting the foods in and out) and 6 years old so you can get a lot from this toy at a very reasonable price.

The negatives? Virtually none. Oh, there is one... Although there are two volume settings due to the speaker being placed at the bottom of the pot even the loudest setting can be very quiet especially when played on a soft surface. But that's it.
